Challenge Coin Painting

Welcome to challenge coin painting, a site that hopes to attract challenge coin collectors and show them the inside process of what makes their coins some of the best coins in the world. You painter or enameller has one of the most difficult jobs in turning your bare coin into a work of art through 3D painting, fill colors and other techniques. We will show you the process as it is overseas and here in the U.S. so you can get the bigger picture in how the process flows from the mint to the final stage of your coin design.

Painting a coin with enamel allows a design to come to life and brings all aspects of what the designer originally intended as a finished product. We really want to highlight those that do this job and show the world of collecting that they are a very important part of challenge coins. A majority of coins are painted even if it is a little bit. Whether it’s a poker guard coin, challenge coin, or a medallion they all go through the same process and that’s what we are here for. You can think of this site as the “How They Do It” of challenge coin collecting.

If we have missed an area you would like to see covered differently or covered at all just send us a friendly emailing saying which area it is. This website is meant to enhance the bigger picture of what goes on before a challenge coin is awarded, traded, or sold.
